The Rail Thing

As the Japanese revere rice and the French their own wine, to Russians vodka represents much that is quintessentially Russian. So what better way to see the Motherland than on the ultimate railway journey – the Vodkatrain. In Russia they say, "There are only two kinds of vodka, good and very good", so it’s pretty much guaranteed from centuries old folklore you’re going to have the time of your life. A traditional ride begins in Molotov style, departing from Moscow, the capital of Russia and takes passengers along the Trans-Siberian route, past Irkutsk, through Lake Baikal and arriving in Vladivostok 14 days later. Vodka train takes the traditional ideas of group travel, the things we hate, like regimented meal times and enforced sightseeing and gives it the vodka twist. Vodkatrain provides a local person in each city – or as they say a Honcho. These local guides will provide you with inside knowledge and help you get the most out of your stay. The Vodkatrain serves as your support network – providing accommodation, transport, transfers en-route and your local Honcho. The groups are designed to be pint size with a maximum of 15 people. That’s something I’d like to drink to.
